What Is A Marine Survey?
A marine survey is an independent inspection of a vessel and its equipment, based on a careful visual inspection of the accessible areas of the vessel and its structures as well as available equipment, to give you reassurance that the vessel is in order, or, if not what is wrong.

The survey usually takes place in two stages.  In the first stage the vessel is inspected in the water.  During this stage the majority of the vessel is inspected and allows the engine and transmission to be assessed while in operation.  The onboard systems, equipment, and appliances are considered with particular reference to current standards and statutory regulations.  Some of these systems include the electrical, fuel, fresh water, waste, and LPG system.  During the second stage, the vessel is hauled so that the underwater portions of the hull and the vessel's running gear can be
inspected.

The findings, conclusions, and recommendations are then presented in a written report so that you, your insurance company, and/or financier can make an informed decision regarding the vessel
