Taylor Marine Surveying & Consulting, LLC is a full time independent marine surveying and consultancy company. We are not affiliated with any other marine related business. This assures you that when you retain us, you will receive a service that is not biased toward any lender, insurance company, yacht broker, or repair company. We work for you and only you!
Our Principal Surveyor and Operating Manager, Lee Taylor, is a former law enforcement officer with a background in traffic enforcement, accident investigations, and criminal investigations as well as law enforcement instructor. He and his family have been liveaboard cruisers for the past twelve years, and he brings with him over twenty years of diverse marine and marine industry experience including:
1. Vessel Operations
2. Vessel Refit and Repairs
3. Boat Construction/Boatbuilder
4. Marina Management
5. Hi & Dry/Dry Stack Marina Management
6. Boatyard Operations
Along with practical experience, Mr. Taylor is Standards Certified by the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) and earned the credentials of Accredited Master Marine Surveyor (AMMS) after graduating from the Navtech/US Surveyors Association's Yacht and Small Commercial Vessel Surveying Program. He is also a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime Colleges' (SUNY) Marine Surveying - Yacht Damage Program and holds both an Associates in Applied Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. Additionally, he has attended various seminars and courses related to marine surveying from a variety of entities such as ABYC, SAMS, and Professional Boatbuilder Magazine. Mr. Taylor is a full member in good standing with the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) and Survey Associate in good standing with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS). And, he continues to attend training courses and conferences in an on-going manner. Furthermore, he co-founded the Marine Surveyor Exchange (MSE) and regularly contributes to the Marine Professionals Forum and Boat US Technical Exchange.
